SECOND PRES PRESCHOOL is an outreach of the Family Ministries of Second Presbyterian Church. We have been serving families in our community for over 60 years by providing a faith based early childhood experience. Our staff members are well trained, nurturing educators who love working with young children and helping them reach their fullest potential.

OUR MISSION is to educate the hearts and minds of young children to know and love God and prepare them for the next step in their education and development by providing a loving and supportive environment, age-appropriate educational activities, social and emotional interactions with peers and communicating biblical truths in a meaningful way. We strive to partner with families to achieve a positive early childhood experience for every child.

ACTIVITIES: Beyond the daily schedule, the students at Second Pres Preschool will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of exciting activities.  

DAILY SCHEDULE: Each class offers age-appropriate activities to encourage growth in all areas of development in a safe, organized, and fun environment.

The preschool day will consist of:

• Arrival Time with Name Activities and Question of the Day
• Morning Meeting Circle Time includes calendar/weather time & daily theme lesson
• Learning Centers including activities to teach fine-motor, math, science, & letters/numbers
• Free Choice Play with block & creation areas, dramatic play, sensory table, free art, & more
• Snack Time with Class Prayer & Bible Memory Verses
• Art & Crafts to teach crayon, scissor and glue holding skills while allowing creativity
• Kindermusik includes songs, instruments, and dance exploring body movements
• Gym Time or Playground Play with gross motor planned activities and free play
• Story Time includes teachers reading a story and lesson review
• Dismissal Time with students packing their backpacks and preparing for pick-up

This class is for children that turn 3 years old during the September 2025-May 2026 preschool year.  
Children can start the class once they turn 3 years old (i.e. A child with the birth date of 11-03-22; if there is a spot in the class, they can start on the next Monday which would be 11-06-25).   This class will begin in October, but enrollment will continue all year if spots are available.  Register now to get on the enrollment list for this class.  (Birth dates: 9/2/22-5/1/23).

Children must be 3 years on or before September 1, 2025
(Birth dates: 9/2/21-9/1/22). Children must be working on being toilet trained.

Children must be 4 years on or before September 1, 2025. (Birth date 9/1/21 and older). Children must be toilet trained.
